I'm fascinated with yearbook inscriptions. They're so telling, aren't they?

One thing that interests me is the cliches. Why did people take the time to write them? What did that particular joke/phrase mean to this person, as opposed to something meaningful? Not judging, just wondering.

Then there are the random statements like this one:

Agreed, but... why?

Finally, there's the occasional romantic hint, or even a spastic love declaration (by proxy.)
