My enthusiasm for all things over-the-top girlie was growing every day.
It just so happened that right at that time, my brother left to serve a mission, which meant I got to move into his old bedroom. Let me tell you something about this room: it had a letterbox by the door, a real peephole, and its OWN, PRIVATE PHONE LINE.
Now, this was before teenagers had cell phones. Even caller-ID was a recent development! Dude, I even had my own ANSWERING MACHINE. Unbelievable. (I miss that little blinking light! Voicemails just aren't as exciting.)
But the fun doesn't stop there. My dad happens to be a gifted artist, so I begged and pleaded (it wasn't that hard- he's a softy) and eventually coaxed Dad into painting me a gorgeous Hawaiian mural on one of the walls. The other three walls: Barbie pink of course.
Colorful curtains, fuzzy pink rugs, and gaudy bejeweled accents completed the look. It was teenage girl heaven.
Dude... your room! I absolutely love it! A Legally Blonde room! It's the coolest.
